Mopar started life in 1937 as the name for antifreeze. Ninety years later, the parts brand is celebrating with a two-door Charger wearing a carbon-fiber hood and no extra horsepower.
Stellantis revealed the Mopar ‘27 Dodge Charger on October 27. It’s a $10,995 factory package for the 2027 Charger R/T and Charger Scat Pack Plus coupes, capped at 270 cars. Each of three colors gets 90 cars: Bludicrous, Diamond Black and White Knuckle. The U.S. gets 243 of them and Canada gets 27.
What $10,995 buys
The package is mostly bolt-on Direct Connection hardware, installed before the car leaves the factory:
- Carbon-fiber front splitter
- Carbon-fiber hood with a functional scoop
- Cold-air intake
- Carbon-fiber rear spoiler
- Unique bodyside and hood graphics
- A serialized 90th-anniversary plaque on the radiator closeout panel
- A dash badge
Buyers also get an owner kit with a serialized certificate of authenticity and a rendering from Mopar’s design team.

Notice what’s missing from that list: a new power rating. Stellantis calls the content “functional performance enhancements,” yet the R/T stays at 420 hp and the Scat Pack Plus stays at 550 hp. The quoted 0–60 and quarter-mile times are also unchanged: 4.6 and 12.9 seconds for the R/T, 3.9 and 12.2 for the Scat Pack Plus. The intake may help the 3.0-liter twin-turbo SIXPACK breathe a little more freely and sound a little angrier, but Dodge isn’t claiming a single extra pony. Think of it as an $11,000 wardrobe, not a tune.
R/T or Scat Pack Plus? The Math Is Lopsided
Both trims pay the same package price, but they don’t get the same value from it. Stellantis says the Scat Pack Plus version brings leather performance seats, 20×11-inch wheels, the Carbon and Suede Package and the Blacktop Package. Its high-output engine uses forged internals, 54mm Garrett turbos and an upgraded charge-air cooler. All of that comes with the Scat Pack Plus trim itself, not the Mopar package.
That makes the R/T the more interesting choice and the riskier one. A carbon scooped hood on the 420-hp car makes a strong visual promise that the drivetrain doesn’t keep. If you’re buying to collect, the Scat Pack Plus is the obvious pick. If you’re buying to drive, the R/T is the cheaper way into a serialized car. Just be aware that the next owner will probably want the bigger engine.
The Show Car Has Parts You Can’t Order From the Factory
The car at SEMA wears three extras that buyers won’t get from the factory: a cat-back exhaust, a performance spring kit and 21×11-inch “Brass Monkey” wheels. Stellantis says these are sold separately through dealers. Mopar’s earlier Charger accessories release lists that spring kit at $325 and says it drops ride height by an inch.
That detail matters. Pair a one-inch drop with a carbon splitter and your driveway apron becomes an expensive problem. Carbon splitters crack instead of bending, and replacements for a 270-car edition won’t be sitting on a dealer’s shelf.
Owner and Buyer Takeaways
- Emissions and warranty. A factory-installed cold-air intake is a different legal animal from one you buy online. In states that enforce aftermarket intake certification, installation at the factory should make compliance Stellantis’ problem, not yours. Get written confirmation from the dealer that the package parts fall under the new-vehicle warranty.
- Insurance. Tell your insurer it’s a serialized limited edition, and ask about agreed-value coverage. A standard policy will value it as a Charger with stickers, and replacement carbon parts plus graphics could cost far more than that assumption.
- Documentation. Keep the certificate, rendering and plaque intact. On low-volume factory specials, missing paperwork is the fastest way to turn a collectible back into a used car.
- Allocation. With only 243 U.S. cars, most Dodge stores will never see one. Expect market adjustments, and get the price in writing before you put money down.
The Anniversary Pattern
This is the fourth Charger to get the full treatment since 2011, and the series dates back to the Mopar ‘10 Challenger. The numbers trick is familiar too. For Mopar’s 80th, the Mopar ‘17 Challenger ran 80 cars in each of two colors. The 90th gets 90 per color across three colors.

Dealer orders open in January 2027, with production starting that spring. Before that, the car makes its public debut at the Mopar NHRA Las Vegas Nationals from October 30 to November 1, then moves to booth 59119 in SEMA’s West Hall from November 3 to 6.
Would you pay $10,995 for a faster-looking R/T, or step up to the Scat Pack Plus and skip the costume?
