Sydney Sweeney named her 1965 Mustang “Britney.” Over roughly three years, the Euphoria and Anyone But You actress has moved from sharing restoration clips online to designing a Mustang with Ford, launching two workwear collections with Ford and Dickies, and applying for a federal trademark covering her own line of automotive goods.
The Mustang at the Center
Most of the story circles back to Sweeney’s 1965 Ford Mustang, nicknamed “Britney” for its original Brittany Blue paint. She has said she grew up around Fords and comes from a family of mechanics, and she has described doing restoration work on vintage cars herself, a classic Ford Bronco among them, instead of sending them to a shop.
In a Ford release from November 2023, she said, “Being able to take my car into my own hands has been so empowering for me.”
Ford and Dickies Workwear
Ford leaned into that passion in 2023, teaming up with Dickies on a limited-edition Ford x Sydney Sweeney workwear collection. It featured bib overalls, work pants built on Dickies’ 847 cut, a bandana, and a corduroy cap, all carrying a “Syd’s Garage” patch.
A second capsule arrived on November 29, 2023, drawing its inspiration straight from Britney. That drop added denim coveralls, a racing jacket, a T-shirt, a corduroy hat, and a keychain.
A Custom Mustang GT for a Fan
In January 2024, Ford and Sweeney revealed a 2024 Mustang GT she customized as a contest prize. It came in Robin’s Egg Blue with a crushed-glass clear coat and 20-inch chrome wheels, with her signature on the engine, heart-shaped bolt emblems on the exterior, sill plates, dash and seats, and color-changing LED stars in the headliner.
Contestants were asked to describe how they had defied expectations in their own passion. Ford said roughly 5,000 eligible entries arrived before the February 7, 2024 deadline. The winner, Brittley of Washington State, already owns a 2005 Mustang that she works on alongside her father.
From Patch to Paperwork
“Syd’s Garage” is also the name of Sweeney’s public TikTok account, where she shares car content. In a December 2025 Vanity Fair lie detector segment, she described her own feed there as “sadly a lot of hate about me.”
A “Syd’s Garage” trademark application was filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on November 4, 2025, alongside a logo showing two bolts twisted into a heart. Based on trademark coverage, the filing appears to cover hand tools such as socket sets, car polishes and waxes, air fresheners, and clothing including coveralls, hoodies and caps. (We covered the filing when it surfaced.) A filing is not a registration, and the application still has to get through USPTO examination.
If it advances, the Syd’s Garage name would belong to Sweeney rather than to Ford or Dickies, letting her put it on products without a carmaker’s logo alongside it.
Would you pick up a “Syd’s Garage” socket set at your local parts store, or does a celebrity name on a torque wrench make you trust it less?
