Earlier this year, Jay Leno lent his support to a California measure intended to exempt classic cars from smog checks. The bill is now advancing toward the Senate floor, but only after a committee made substantial changes that have left many enthusiasts disappointed with the revised version.
Legislation of this kind often gets reshaped as it moves through the process, and the alterations here appear to have diluted what supporters originally hoped to achieve. Whether the amended bill still offers meaningful relief for classic car owners remains to be seen as it continues through the legislature.

Well, there maybe political hell to pay, just vote them out
Ms. Wahab obviously has no appreciation for AMERICAN made vintage vehicles. Think I’ll let my ’72 Chevrolet Suburban idle for an hour a day, everyday.
100% to that
Narrow minded, ignorant twits are at it again, it makes little to no sense to gut the bill as written….. Except to pacify some knee jerk reaction that these collector cars will return us to the early 60’s smog levels
For the most part these cars are in such a state of tune and so well maintained, coupled with the Cal blend fuel, they are considerably cleaner now than when they were new. Driving them a couple of hundred miles miles a year won’t count for squat
More Commiefornia Elites dick tating

I’ve had it with this Libtard state, the wrong ignorant people have been running it way to long I don’t understand why we keep putting up with it I guess it’s just going to get worse until we leave and I know that’s just what they want, very sad part in history.
We forget that these politicians work for us, elected by us and can be removed from their offices by us. Note the politicians who oppose this law and let’s do what we can to make them unemployed……
Dumbacrats continue to do what they want and consequences for there stupidity will come and it shows more and more every year no excuse for stupidity and you cant fix stupid and thats a fact so is that democrats have slowly ruined California and eventually the truth will be revealed and people will wake up but by then it might be too late wake up and see reality laws dont fix stupid common sense does work ! Just ware a mask it will fix the air quality errrrrrr
Keep electing the same shit you’ll keep receiving the same shit
True! Just look at the mess our federal “government” is in.
I expect to see more infuriating, scofflaw, out-of-state license plates, e.g., Montana, on cars at old car shows. I don’t mind the second amendment re classic insurance. The first amendment noted is inane, however.
The problem with classic car insurance in California is that classic car insurance requires a garage. There are a lot of people who do not have garages in California, including me. I live in city in which garages are almost nonexistent. This is prevented me from being able to get classic car insurance, except when I’ve been able to use a friend’s garage to store my car. So, it is not as easy to get the insurance as it looks, and the insurance is often very restrictive in terms of use. Still, it would’ve been better to just leave it at having classic car insurance; they didn’t have to go this far.
So who voted for the changes to the bill. Jay Leno should lead a group of cars in front of there houses and rev the engines all night
I will go
Wahab is a fanatic. You can take the Afghan out of Afghanistan, but you take Afghanistan out of the Afghan. She is an Islamist supremacist if you read between the lines, recently liked to brag about her pseudo-doctorate, and then insults like this over the bill. Even her posts are all about Islamic holidays. Us Californians need to take back our state and throw legislators like this out. Wahab isn’t even a Californian!
Instead of talking about leaving California, we need to throw out these democrats fanatics who lord over us, back criminals, waste tax dollars, chase away businesses and long-time Californians. Yes, republicans suck, but I’d rather vote in moderate California republicans, than democrats that have hurt this state so badly, for years without consequence. Enough already.
