This Porsche Carrera GT Was Custom-Ordered by Schumacher Himself — Now It’s Hitting the Auction Block

A 2004 Porsche Carrera GT ordered new for seven-time Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher is set to cross the auction block here Saturday, Jan. 16, as part of the Kissimmee 2027 sale.

The car, cataloged as Lot R808 and carrying VIN WP0ZZZ98Z4L000116, arrives with a paperwork trail that reflects the complications of Schumacher’s career at the time. While the German driver was under contract with Ferrari, his agreement restricted him to driving vehicles from the Fiat Group. The Porsche was therefore titled to Willi Weber, Schumacher’s longtime manager, even though it was specified for the driver himself. Two details tie the machine directly to its intended owner. A vinyl “MS” insignia is affixed to the rear decklid, and the owner’s manual bears an illustration of Schumacher’s racing helmet.

Beyond the provenance, the car is a well-preserved example of a model that has become one of Porsche’s most sought-after road cars. Only 1,270 Carrera GTs were built worldwide. This one is finished in black over a black leather interior and rides on factory magnesium center-lock wheels painted black with a red outer accent stripe. Red brake calipers complete the look.

Power comes from a naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V-10 rated at 605 horsepower and 435 pound-feet of torque, routed through a six-speed manual gearbox topped with a black leather shift knob. The chassis uses carbon fiber monocoque and subframe construction, with pushrod suspension and inboard dampers borrowed from racing practice.

The car is equipped with the Porsche Ceramic Composite Clutch and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes. Carbon fiber trim appears on the rear shelf, door panels and lower center console, and the removable carbon fiber roof panels remain with the car.
