Much of the Dodge Viper’s appeal comes from its thunderous V10, an engine that gives the supercar its famously untamed personality. So it raised eyebrows when someone decided to remove that signature powerplant and drop in an inline-six Hurricane engine instead. For purists, the swap borders on automotive heresy.
Part of what makes the Viper special is the visceral character only its big V10 can deliver, something a smaller modern engine struggles to replicate. While the conversion may be technically interesting, it sacrifices the very trait that defines the car. Enthusiasts will likely debate whether such a project is bold experimentation or a misguided erasure of what made the Viper great.
