Sydney Sweeney calls her 1965 Mustang “Britney.” In about three years, the Euphoria and Anyone But You star has gone from posting restoration videos to designing a Ford Mustang, releasing two workwear lines with Ford and Dickies, and filing a federal trademark for her own line of car products.
The Car Behind the Brand
The car at the center of most of this is Sweeney’s 1965 Ford Mustang, which she calls “Britney” after its original Brittany Blue paint. Sweeney has said she grew up around Fords and in a family of mechanics. She has talked about restoring vintage cars herself, including a classic Ford Bronco, rather than handing them off to a shop.
“Being able to take my car into my own hands has been so empowering for me,” she said in a Ford release in November 2023.
Two workwear lines with Ford and Dickies
Ford put that interest to work in 2023. The automaker and Dickies released a limited-edition Ford x Sydney Sweeney workwear collection that year, including bib overalls, work pants based on Dickies’ 847 style, a bandana and a corduroy cap, each with a “Syd’s Garage” patch.
A second capsule followed on November 29, 2023, this time inspired directly by Britney. It added denim coveralls, a racing jacket, a T-shirt, a corduroy hat and a keychain.
A Mustang GT she designed for a fan
In January 2024, Ford and Sweeney unveiled a custom 2024 Mustang GT she designed as a contest prize. The car wore a Robin’s Egg Blue finish with a crushed-glass clear coat and 20-inch chrome wheels, plus her signature on the engine, heart-shaped bolt emblems on the body, sill plates, dash and seats, and color-changing LED stars in the headliner.
Entrants were asked to share how they had challenged expectations in their own passion. Ford said about 5,000 eligible entries came in before the contest closed on February 7, 2024. The winner, Brittley from Washington State, already owned a 2005 Mustang that she works on with her father.
From Patch to Paperwork
“Syd’s Garage” is also the name of Sweeney’s public TikTok account, where she posts car content. Her own feed there is, as she put it in a December 2025 Vanity Fair lie detector segment, “sadly a lot of hate about me.”
On November 4, 2025, a “Syd’s Garage” trademark application was filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, along with a logo of two bolts twisted into a heart. According to trademark coverage, the filing appears to cover hand tools such as socket sets, car polishes and waxes, air fresheners, and clothing including coveralls, hoodies and caps. (We covered the filing when it surfaced.) A filing is not a registration, and the application still has to clear USPTO examination.
If it moves forward, the Syd’s Garage name would belong to Sweeney rather than to Ford or Dickies, so she could put it on products without a car company’s logo next to it.
If “Syd’s Garage” socket sets showed up at your parts store, would you buy them, or does a celebrity name on a torque wrench make you trust it less?
