Celebrity car-collection lists are mostly guesswork dressed up as inventory. Sydney Sweeney’s is different, because the confirmed part is short and she has been the one doing the talking, usually with grease on her hands. Here’s what’s fact, what’s rumor, and what nobody has been able to prove.
The lead image is an illustration: a portrait of Sweeney blended with a stock photo of a 1969 Bronco. The truck shown is not hers.
1. FACT: A 1969 Ford Bronco she rebuilt herself
This is the headline car, and the best documented. Sweeney bought the Bronco in February 2021 and, in her own account for eBay Motors, rebuilt the back axle, wire-brushed out the rust, welded the hood latch, swapped the driveshaft and reworked the drivetrain. The interior got light brown woven leather, and the truck went back to its original Cherry Red. She sourced rare parts through eBay Motors and showed the finished truck at the company’s New York Auto Parts Show.

She credited her best friend’s father, who restores Porsches, with teaching her the work, according to her Instagram post as reported by Today. Axle and rust work is the part that matters on an early Bronco: it decides whether you own a driver or a project, and paint is the cheap bit. She documents the builds on a TikTok channel called Syds Garage, and we covered one of those videos in our earlier post on her Bronco wrenching clip.
2. FACT: A 1965 Mustang she calls Britney
Ford’s own write-up of her Mustang project says the design was inspired by her personal 1965 Mustang, which she calls Britney and which wears a light blue. Wikipedia lists the car among her vehicles too. There’s no public registration record to check, so the evidence is her posts and Ford’s say-so. That’s thinner than the Bronco, but it comes straight from the people who would know.

3. FACT, WITH AN ASTERISK: Her great-grandfather’s Ford F-100
Ford says Sweeney learned to drive in her great-grandfather’s F-100. She grew up in a family of mechanics in Spokane, Washington, so it tracks. But learning to drive in a family truck is not the same as owning it, and nobody has said she does. Count it as part of her car story, not her garage.

4. FACT: The custom 2024 Mustang GT she designed and gave away
In early 2024, Ford ran a giveaway for a 2024 Mustang GT that Sweeney designed with the company: Robin’s Egg Blue paint with a crushed-glass clear coat, 20-inch chrome wheels, her signature on the engine, a heart-bolt emblem on the exterior and sill plates, and color-changing LED stars across the headliner. The winner, Brittley from Washington State, was picked from roughly 5,000 entries, Ford says. So this is a car she built on paper. It is not in her garage.

5. FACT: A garage brand with paperwork behind it
The name on her TikTok is protected. Per federal trademark records, SYDS GARAGE was filed in November 2022 and is registered for vlogs about auto restoration. A second application, filed in February 2024, covers carnauba wax and wax-impregnated sponges. The catch: that one was an intent-to-use filing, which means a claim on the name, not a product on a shelf. The USPTO wants proof of actual use before it registers a mark like that. We dug into the brand angle in our earlier trademark story.
6. RUMOR: Ford handed her the Bronco
It’s an easy assumption, given that Ford later put her in a campaign. It doesn’t fit the timeline. By her own account she bought the truck in February 2021, and Ford announced its Built Ford Proud campaign with her in March 2023. Ford found a woman already rebuilding a Bronco on camera, not the other way around.

7. RUMOR: A Porsche in the garage
Nobody has shown one. The only Porsche connection on the record is the best friend’s father who taught her to wrench. No post, no photo and no Ford statement puts a 911 in her driveway. Treat any list that includes one as a guess.

8. RUMOR: A big, secret collection
Search her name plus “car collection” and you’ll find plenty of padded lists. What’s actually on the record is a Bronco she rebuilt, a 1965 Mustang, a family F-100 she learned on, and a custom Mustang she gave away. Two cars she’s named as hers, and that’s the whole verified garage. It’s a small list, and it’s more interesting than a fake long one, because she turned the wrenches on at least one of them.
Would you rather see a celebrity restore one old truck herself or buy a finished one at auction for the headline?
