Ford likes to remind everyone that its trucks are built tough, but watching a Raptor go over a mountainside and emerge essentially unscathed pushes that claim into almost unbelievable territory. Plenty of vehicles have come apart after far gentler abuse, which makes this outcome all the more remarkable. It is the kind of footage that sounds exaggerated until you see it.
The Raptor is engineered for punishing off-road duty, with reinforced underpinnings and suspension designed to absorb serious impacts. Even so, surviving a fall like this with no apparent damage is a striking testament to its rugged construction. Stories like this fuel the truck’s larger-than-life reputation and give its devoted fans yet another reason to brag.
