A Rolls-Royce Ghost serving with the Miami Beach Police Department has generated plenty of buzz, and it is easy to see why. The car wears the familiar black-and-white livery typically associated with patrol staples like the Dodge Charger and Ford Crown Victoria. The difference, of course, is that this is an ultra-luxury sedan rather than a conventional cruiser.
Outfitting a vehicle of that caliber for police use makes for an eye-catching and unconventional sight. Such cars usually serve in a promotional or community-relations capacity rather than chasing down suspects. Whatever its role, the Ghost cruiser certainly succeeds in grabbing attention and giving the department a memorable, headline-grabbing presence.
