Heavy flooding across parts of Texas and Louisiana has left numerous vehicles overwhelmed by rising water, with the Houston area among the hardest hit. One striking example involved a semi-truck and its trailer that drove into a deeply flooded section of roadway, ending up largely submerged in the high water.
Floodwaters are notoriously deceptive, often deeper and faster-moving than they appear, which is why officials repeatedly warn drivers not to attempt crossing flooded roads. The incident serves as a vivid reminder of how quickly even large vehicles can be defeated by floodwater, and why turning around remains the safest choice.
