Red Hot Chili Peppers Singer Anthony Kiedis Gets Ticketed On His Motorcycle

Estimated read time 2 min read

Rock n’ roll bad boy Anthony Kiedis, known for doing Red Hot Chili Peppers shows shirtless while putting in an energetic performance, didn’t look nearly as enthused when he was pulled over by police in California recently.

Metallica has gone green.

The musician, who is now 61, was reportedly going down the California Pacific Highway on Sunday, March 31 on his BMW motorcycle when he allegedly ran a red light. As luck would have it, a California Highway Patrol unit spotted him and performed a legal traffic stop to write a citation.

Images of the traffic stop show Kiedis looking rather bored as the officer checks his information and writes the citation. At one point he sat with his chin in his hands, making it clear the Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman wasn’t having a good time.

People have thoughts about how Kiedis was dressed for the outing. Known for his unusual attire, he donned an all-black outfit and a black half motorcycle helmet, along with aviator sunglasses and a white bandanna around his chin and neck.

Some thought he looked as cool as ever while others mocked his appearance on social media. We’re sure Kiedis doesn’t really care about their opinions.

Even though this is negative news, the incident shines a spotlight on Kiedis as he’s about to get more exposure than he’s had in a while. His 2004 memoir titled Scar Tissue is getting made into a movie by Universal Studios. While many movies have struggled recently, there’s still a chance this one could be a hit and Kiedis might see his star shine brightly again.

In the meantime, he really should stop at red lights.
