A Miami-based social media influencer says thieves drove off with his black Ferrari during an early morning burglary at his home garage on February 14. The Miami Police Department has confirmed it’s investigating the incident, which happened around 4:16 a.m. when two suspects entered the property and left with the car.
Caught on Camera, But Not Stopped
Police say the suspects gained access to the garage and removed the Ferrari before fleeing the scene, and surveillance footage shared by the car’s owner, Carlos Nunez, backs that up. The video shows two individuals at the property during the theft: one driving the Ferrari away, and another inside a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon parked at the residence. A white Mercedes believed to be connected to the suspects also appears in the footage, though that vehicle was left behind once the group fled.
Nunez, who has a combined social media following of more than 14 million, said he actually became aware of the theft as it was unfolding and confronted the suspects verbally as they were leaving. It didn’t stop them. They still made off with the Ferrari despite his attempt to intervene in the moment, a reminder that confronting car thieves directly carries real risk with little guarantee of actually stopping the theft.
Where Things Stand
Similar Ferrari models have listed for as much as $500,000, giving some sense of what’s at stake here beyond the obvious personal loss. No arrests have been announced so far, and investigators are working through the surveillance footage and other evidence as they try to identify the suspects. Nunez has publicly asked anyone with information to contact local law enforcement, and the case remains active as detectives continue trying to recover the car and track down those responsible.
