A coffee table built from the engine of a Ferrari Testarossa is up for auction with no reserve, and bidding had reached $12,250 with two days left in the sale.
The piece is offered by Ben’s Automotive Decor of Atascadero, California, and carries the name Cuore Aperto, Italian for Open Heart. The title fits. Rather than hiding the Ferrari’s flat-12 engine inside a body, the table pulls it apart and puts its inner workings on full display.
The seller took components from the Testarossa’s engine and refinished them before putting them back together in an exploded-view layout. That arrangement spreads the parts out slightly from one another, the way a technical diagram might, so viewers can see the crankcases, cylinder heads and intake manifolds from several angles at once.

The finish leans into the car’s character. Some parts were given a three-tone, chrome-effect powder coat, while others received a red crinkle coating, a textured look long associated with Ferrari engines.
The engine does more than sit on display. Its intake manifolds hold up a glass top measuring 48 inches by 36 inches, set 20.5 inches off the floor, a typical height for a coffee table. Adjustable feet under the base of the engine allow the table to be leveled on uneven floors.
Buyers interested in the details will find close-up photos of the surfaces, factory stampings and the engine number in the listing’s gallery. A warranty tag, mounted in an acrylic frame, comes with the table as well.
Because the auction carries no reserve, the table will go to the highest bidder when the sale closes, regardless of the final price. For a Ferrari fan with a living room to fill, it offers a rare chance to keep the heart of a Testarossa in plain sight, even without the car wrapped around it.
