A 1959 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe that appeared on screen alongside Nipsey Hussle, DJ Khaled and John Legend is heading to the auction block in California, where it is expected to bring between $175,000 and $225,000.
The custom lowrider, listed as Lot F120, will cross the block Friday, Aug. 14, as part of the Monterey 2026 sale. It carries the serial number F59L181988.

The car’s most notable credential is not on its spec sheet. It was featured in the 2019 music video for “Higher,” a DJ Khaled track performed with Hussle and Legend. The video became one of the last projects associated with the Los Angeles rapper, and the Impala’s role in it gives the car a cultural footnote that few 1959 Chevrolets can claim.
Beneath the sheet metal, the Impala runs a 283-cubic-inch V-8 fitted with camel hump heads, a factory cylinder head design long favored by builders for improved airflow and stronger performance. Power routes through a Turbo Hydramatic 350 automatic transmission, a durable and widely used three-speed unit that replaced the era’s original hardware in countless period restorations and custom builds.
The car rides on a custom hydraulic suspension setup, the defining feature of West Coast lowrider culture and the mechanism behind the raised, dropped and tilted stances the style is known for. Dayton wire wheels wrapped in whitewall tires complete the look, pairing a traditional lowrider staple with a nod to the car’s late-1950s roots.
Outside, the Impala wears a classic Baby Blue finish. Inside, the cabin is trimmed in a tri-tone blue treatment that carries the exterior color scheme through the interior.

The 1959 Impala remains one of the most recognizable American designs of its decade, distinguished by its horizontal tailfins, cat’s-eye taillamps and low, wide profile. Those proportions made the car a favorite among customizers long before it became a fixture in music videos and album art, and clean examples have grown steadily more valuable as the lowrider tradition has drawn broader attention from collectors.
Whether the estimate holds will depend on how much bidders are willing to pay for provenance. Mechanically, the car is a well-executed custom. Historically, it is a piece of a moment that resonated well beyond the car world.
