Bill Goldberg’s 1969 Dodge Charger R/T Is One Unique Machine

Estimated read time 2 min read

Bill Goldberg is quite the gearhead, boasting a garage full of impressive rides. But the former professional wrestler and football player recently showed off a classic muscle car which blows away many of his other acquisitions, an original-condition 1969 Dodge Charger R/T with a very unique spec.

Sammy Hagar is auctioning his rare ride.

While we personally just love the ’69 Charger, there are admittedly quite a few out there. What makes this one special and a standout is the 426ci Hemi V8 under the hood. It’s the original factory mill, not a swap made later. Plus, it boasts the factory 2×4-barrel carb, making it one of only 432 ever made.

As if that doesn’t make the Mopar muscle car rare enough, Goldberg’s hardtop boasts a four-speed manual transmission, so that combined with the Hemi makes it one of only 119 built with the same setup.

But when you take into account the factory B5 Blue and a few other options, this ’69 Hemi Charger is quite possibly a one-of-one masterpiece. And that’s why it’s a standout even in Bill Goldberg’s amazing collection.

Not only is this Charger rare and numbers-matching, it’s pretty much all original save some wearable components, the ignition, the wheels, the tires, the battery, etc. With the restomod craze and such, you can’t say that about many classic muscle cars, for better or worse.

Goldberg absolutely loves his 1969 Hemi Charger R/T and why shouldn’t he? The car goes perfectly with his persona and is something any diehard Mopar fan would chop off a number of body parts to own. In fact, Bill says the Charger was the reason he started collecting cars and that it was always “going to be the pinnacle of the collection.”

In fact, he’s said repeatedly that if he were a car, he’d be a Dodge Charger. We can definitely see that.
