Six Years On, A Zero-Mile Le Mansory Ford GT Is Still Shopping For An Owner
Every so often the Le Mansory resurfaces, everyone reacts the way they reacted the first time, and then it goes back to sleep. It’s awake again. There is currently a 2018 Ford GT wearing the full Mansory conversion listed in Dubai by F1rst Motors at AED 5,999,000, roughly $1.63 million. The odometer reads zero kilometers. The condition field says new.
Sit with that for a second. This thing was revealed in 2020, built on a donor car that rolled out of Multimatic two years before that, and it has never been driven.
What Mansory actually changed
According to Mansory’s own page, the Le Mansory is a complete vehicle conversion limited to three cars worldwide, built under a “one car per decade” theme for the tuner’s 30th anniversary. Full carbon body, a color called Bleurion Race, newly developed LED headlights, and a quoted power increase to 710 PS and 840 Nm.
Note the units, because this is where the marketing math gets interesting. Mansory publishes 710 PS, which is metric horsepower. Convert it properly and you land at about 700 hp SAE. The same page’s companion listing quotes the donor’s stock output as 483 kW, which works out to roughly 648 hp, matching Ford’s original 2017-2019 rating.

So the actual claimed gain is around 53 horsepower, achieved through engine management changes. No new turbos, no different intercoolers, no head work. Just calibration.
For context on how hard that number is to come by honestly: when Ford itself revised the GT for 2020, it took gallery-cooled pistons, higher-energy ignition coils, larger intercoolers, revised buttress ducts and a fresh calibration to find 13 horsepower, ending at 660 horsepower. Ford’s engineers had the dyno cells, the durability fleet and the warranty exposure. Treat a 53-horsepower flash-tune claim on the same hardware with the skepticism it deserves, and budget for the fact that a leaned-out, boosted 3.5-liter EcoBoost living at higher cylinder pressures is not doing its turbos or its pistons any favors over a long life.
The wheel and tire swap is the part nobody flags
The Dubai listing specifies forged 21-inch wheels measuring 9 inches wide up front and 12 inches at the rear, wrapped in Continental SportContact 6 rubber.
Ford built this car around something different. Ford’s spec sheet lists 20×8.5-inch front and 20×11.5-inch rear wheels on 245/35R20 and 325/30R20 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Going to a 21-inch rim means less sidewall, more unsprung mass at each corner, and a different rolling diameter feeding a suspension and stability system calibrated around the original setup. Swapping a Cup 2 for a SportContact 6 also trades a track-biased construction for a grand touring one on a car whose entire dynamic character was signed off on the former.
There is also a practical wrinkle. Those are bespoke sizes on a bespoke wheel. When a tire ages out, and on a zero-mile car sitting since 2020 the tires are already well past their useful life regardless of tread depth, the replacement conversation is not a phone call to the local shop.
Repair, insurance and the three-car problem
The Ford GT already uses a carbon fiber monocoque and carbon bodywork, so this was never a cheap car to fix. Mansory’s version adds a full carbon body that exists on three vehicles on Earth. There is no parts counter. A curbed front splitter or a cracked quarter panel means a conversation with Bavaria, a mold, and a lead time measured in months.

That has direct insurance consequences. A standard stated-value policy on a modified exotic frequently pays out on the donor car, not the conversion, which on a $1.6 million ask is an enormous gap. Anyone buying one of these needs a genuine agreed-value policy with the conversion documented, appraised and scheduled, plus a rider for the bodywork specifically. Otherwise a minor incident becomes a total loss argument you will lose.
The legal side, if it ever comes stateside
Those four-element LED headlights are the most visually striking change and the most legally complicated one. In the United States, replacement lighting has to satisfy FMVSS 108, and federal law bars manufacturers, distributors, dealers and repair businesses from knowingly making inoperative equipment installed to meet a safety standard, as NHTSA explains in its own interpretation letters. A shop that installs non-compliant lighting for compensation is exposed. A private owner is not covered by that statute, but state inspection and equipment laws still apply.
Worth remembering, too, that Ford has historically treated GT ownership as a relationship rather than a transaction. The company sued John Cena in federal court in Michigan in November 2017 over the resale of a 2017 car, asserting he had agreed to keep it for 24 months. Buyers were selected as brand ambassadors. It is fair to assume a full carbon Mansory conversion was not what Ford had in mind.
The takeaway
Rarity is not the same as demand. Three cars built, one of them still unsold and unused six years after the reveal, is the market telling you something clearly. If you want a Ford GT, the donor underneath is the asset. Everything bolted over it is a very expensive opinion.
