Armed conflict inevitably brings collateral damage, and cultural treasures like classic car collections are not immune. A museum in Kyiv, Ukraine that houses vintage automobiles was recently struck during a drone attack. Reports indicate that nine cars were destroyed and another 27 sustained damage, some of it severe.
The loss of irreplaceable historic vehicles adds to the broader toll such events take on a community’s heritage. Classic cars carry decades of history that cannot simply be replaced once gone. The damage to the museum serves as a somber reminder of how far-reaching the consequences of conflict can be, touching even the preservation of automotive history.
