A rare Mercedes-AMG One hypercar went up in flames somewhere in Germany recently, as documented in a short video. For many, it’s a truly sad sight to behold since a mere 275 of these vehicles were made. And this isn’t the first one to be consumed by fire.
The Grand Tour has some young new hosts, and they’re doomed to fail.
This accident, which we don’t know the details about how the blaze might have been sparked, obviously happened somewhere in a somewhat rural part of Germany. Not only is the One’s license plate German, the firetruck seen in the background is German and so are the firefighters’ uniforms.
@chrimbu AMG ONE ein heisser Sportwagen 🤣, wäre besser ohne Lithium Ion Akku🤔🤷♂️

From how it appears, only the driver was inside the hypercar when he noticed something was wrong. You can see he was able to pull off the road onto a paved shoulder but didn’t have time to close the door, or was panicking and didn’t think to close it – not that it matters now.
Watching a rare German hypercar be consumed by flames is both mesmerizing and terrifying at the same time. The fire spreads so quickly that in the just over two minutes of the video, we see it advance significantly while firefighters are still setting up to douse the flames.
Back in May of 2023, the first known Mercedes-AMG One fire happened in Staffordshire, UK with the hypercar literally burning to the ground. Photos of the aftermath show not one component escaped without being at least charred, with most of the vehicle completely destroyed.

We don’t get to see the end result of this Mercedes-AMG One fire in Germany, but by the end of the short TikTok video the flames progress almost to the front edge of the hood after they were consuming the cabin portion of the hypercar in the beginning.
Pour one out for the Formula One inspired Mercedes-AMG One, the second we know of to depart this existence.
