One of the persistent threats facing established racetracks comes from new neighbors who move in nearby and then complain about the noise, crowds and other byproducts of the venue. Such disputes have contributed to track closures elsewhere, but Iowa’s legislature has moved to address the issue.
The newly signed law aims to protect existing tracks from being shut down by complaints from those who chose to live near them.
