Parking on a front lawn is frowned upon in many neighborhoods, often as a homeowners association violation that brings a warning and a fine. In certain municipalities, however, the rules carry far more weight. Baytown, Texas, for instance, treats the practice as a legal matter with potentially much steeper consequences.
One resident reportedly learned that the hard way after parking a truck on his own lawn, an act that led to his arrest under local ordinances. The situation highlights how greatly such regulations can vary from one community to the next. What amounts to a minor nuisance in one town can become a serious legal issue in another, underscoring the value of knowing local laws.

Please repeal this stupid law!!!
Anyone should be permitted to use their property as they see fit as long as it doesn’t directly affect his neighbors persons or property. Feelings and personal dislikes are NOT good reasons to complain.
Another thing, lawns overgrown should not be fined!!! The city should offer to mow or clean the property without cost to the homeowner. I don’t mind paying taxes for kind actions performed by the city if it is not abused. Thank you.
