Estimated read time 2 min read

In a brazen display of defiance and thrill-seeking, a 19-year-old motorcyclist, Ashtin Jarvis, led Florida police on a high-speed chase through several cities, marking the second time in just one week he has done so. The chase, captured in dramatic aerial footage, showed Jarvis, identifiable by his mullet and unique “WILL RUN” license plate, weaving in and out of traffic, running red lights at busy intersections, and even taunting police officers.

The pursuit began when patrol officers recognized Jarvis’s distinctive license plate and attempted to pull him over, a repeat of an incident that occurred days earlier during the annual Daytona Beach Bike Week. According to an arrest affidavit obtained by Law&Crime, Jarvis had previously fled from police upon their discovery of his invalid license plate.

This time, Jarvis engaged in a high-speed chase that stretched through Port Orange, Daytona Beach, and surrounding areas, reaching speeds of up to 145 mph. A police helicopter crew monitoring the chase struggled to keep pace as Jarvis maneuvered through the cities. In a bold move, Jarvis circled a patrol car, mockingly questioning what would happen if he stopped, only to be confronted by an officer’s Taser, leading to his eventual arrest.

Following the chase, one deputy inquired if Jarvis found the adrenaline-fueled pursuit enjoyable, to which he replied, “No, not really,” while handcuffed. The incident concluded with officers affirming their capture of Jarvis’s license plate and commending their efforts in apprehending him. Jarvis later admitted to purchasing the fake license plate after finding it amusing online.

This episode underscores the dangers of reckless driving and the lengths to which some individuals will go for a perceived thrill, even at the risk of public safety and their own freedom. Jarvis now faces the consequences of his actions as law enforcement continues to address such perilous behavior on the roads.
