By now most people know how weird Florida is and of course are familiar with the legendary Florida Man. We have the latest instalment in the tale after a guy crashed his car, then hid from the cops, making “dirt angels” while hiding in a construction site. It was all caught on a police helicopter’s infrared camera and shared online, so we’re definitely not making this up.

Eliezer Armando Reyes Rios, age 34, crashed his car on Christmas Eve. Thankfully he didn’t hit anyone else, just wrecked out by himself, then left the scene of the accident. A deputy tried to stop him but Rios jumped the fence around a construction site nearby.
The guy must’ve thought he was pretty clever or else was wasted, because after that he laid down on some dirt, putting his hands behind his head. Then he appeared to make a phone call before doing dirt angels as if he were a kid in snow. Why anyone would do that is a mystery, but this guy did and it’s all on camera.
We’re guessing it was drugs and/or alcohol that caused this odd behavior. Perhaps the guy was feeling extra festive with Santa Clause coming that night? But we don’t think he got anything other than a big lump of coal.
After he was done playing in the dirt, Rios was greeted by a K9 unit and threatened with a nice big chomp if he didn’t lay down and surrender. As a Christmas bonus, he got hit with several criminal charges.
We hope you never try running from police, but remember if you do many departments these days have helicopters outfitted with infrared cameras. That makes hiding extra hard and with the zoom capabilities on those cameras, you won’t necessarily hear the helicopter even though it has eyes on you.
