A 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 with just 116 miles is back on the market after an early crash cut short its life as a near-new muscle car. The limited-production model, originally purchased at a steep premium, is now being offered for sale following repairs that have drawn scrutiny from online observers.
The Challenger SRT Demon 170 marked Dodge’s farewell to the supercharged HEMI era. While technically a production model, its numbers were tightly capped. Dodge built 3,300 examples in total, with 3,000 allocated for the U.S. market and 300 for Canada. According to a dashboard plaque, this car is number 1,642 of the run.

Power came from a 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 producing 1,025 horsepower and 945 pound-feet of torque when running on E85 fuel. Dodge credited the model with a 0–60 mph time of 1.66 seconds and a certified quarter-mile pass of 8.91 seconds at 151.17 mph. The company never published an official top speed, though it was believed to be electronically limited near that same figure. An eight-speed automatic transmission sent power exclusively to the rear wheels.
That performance came at a cost. The Demon 170 carried an MSRP of $96,666 before dealer markups drove real-world prices much higher. In this case, the owner reportedly paid $124,041, reflecting nearly $30,000 in options. The car was finished in Pitch Black with a Satin Black hood and featured a black interior trimmed in Laguna Leather and Alcantara with Demonic Red seatbelts. Equipment included the Redeye Widebody package, carbon black 20-inch wheels, Widebody Competition Suspension, SRT Power Chiller, sound insulation delete, Brembo brakes, adaptive dampers, and a Premium Group with ventilated seats and a Harman Kardon audio system.
The car’s story changed abruptly in April 2024, when it was involved in an accident that caused disabling damage to the front right corner and triggered airbag deployment. It was towed from the scene. Although it has since been repaired, commenters on its current listing have pointed out misaligned body panels and questioned the quality of the work.

Additional disclosures note scratches on the passenger-side quarter panel, corrosion on some exhaust components, and multiple diagnostic trouble codes across several systems. The vehicle is being sold with one key, the owner’s manual, and the window sticker.
The Demon 170 is currently listed on Cars and Bids with a reserve. With six days remaining, bidding stands at $76,000. Despite its rarity, the car’s brief and troubled history may limit how high it ultimately climbs.
