A Russian Guy Drove His Volkswagen Touareg Off A Parking Garage And Lived

If there’s one thing Russians are famous for around the world, it’s doing crazy things like living with a pet grizzly bear in their house. The other thing for which they’re famous is drinking the kind of vodka you would use to strip the paint off car body panels. When you combine the two, well things get interesting.

Footage that’s been shared to X (the social media platform formerly known as Twitter) shows 40-year-old Evgeny Shamko drive his Volkswagen Touareg off a multi-level park garage, plunging 40 feet to the street below. And shocker, media in Russia reports he was drunk at the time.

Even though the crash looks bad, complete with the German SUV doing a nice corkscrew spin midair, the Mirror says Shamko survived without any injuries. We’ve seen some VW enthusiasts acting like this is the single best endorsement of the brand and especially the Touareg, but we’d have to see some crazy drunk Russians drive some other vehicles from different makes off the same parking garage to be convinced.

Also in the report was the accusation that the barrier which allowed the Volkswagen Touareg to take such a plunge was in fact flimsy. We’ve never heard of such shoddy construction in Russia ever and quite frankly are just shocked.

Hopefully Shamko realizes he cheated death, whether or not it’s all thanks to VW’s engineers, and he might want to lay off the booze, especially when driving. Check out the footage for yourself.
