Newly released dash and body camera footage is turning what was already a shocking reckless driving case into something even more surreal.

Last July, Vince McMahon — the former WWE chairman and longtime wrestling powerbroker — was cited for reckless driving and following too closely resulting in an accident. At the time, reports stated that his Bentley Continental GT Speed had rear-ended a BMW on Route 15 in Westport, Connecticut. The speed estimate? Somewhere between 80 and 90 miles per hour, according to the driver of the BMW.
The video now tells a much more intense story.
100… 110… Nearly 115 MPH
Footage obtained through a public records request shows McMahon’s Bentley flying northbound as a Connecticut State Trooper attempts to catch up. The officer can be heard explaining that he clocked speeds approaching 115 mph while trying to close the gap.
Now watch the footage yourself of the cops talking to him, and tell me if the interaction infuriated you as much as it did me:
The Bentley is seen weaving through traffic and accelerating away before attempting a late pass on the left. That maneuver ends catastrophically. McMahon clips the rear driver’s side of the BMW he was attempting to overtake, sending both vehicles off the roadway and into the median of the two-lane highway.
The impact totaled both cars.
This was not a quiet fender bender. This was a high-speed, high-luxury missile colliding at triple-digit velocity on a narrow stretch of parkway.
If that were you or I, and we ‘didn’t see cops trying to pull us over’ and kept accelerating away from police cars with lights on, do you think they’d be offering excuses for us??? No. We’d be in jail. Felony charges would be on the table.
“It’s My Granddaughter’s Birthday”

When the trooper approaches the wrecked Bentley, the exchange is as startling as the crash itself.
“Why were you driving over 100 miles an hour?” the officer asks.
McMahon responds that it was his granddaughter’s birthday and he was trying to reach the next exit. The officer presses him further, explaining he had been attempting to catch up while McMahon kept accelerating away.
The trooper states plainly that McMahon “almost hit 115 miles an hour” before striking the BMW.
When asked whether he had been on his phone or experiencing a medical issue, McMahon denies both. He tells the officer he “hasn’t been driving this car in God knows how long.” He also describes the Bentley as “too fast.”
At one point, after learning that no one had suffered life-threatening injuries, McMahon exhales and says, “Oh shit, that’s a miracle.”
While handing over his registration and insurance, he mutters to himself, “Stupid f—ing fool.”
The Legal Outcome
In October, a court ruling allowed McMahon to enter pretrial probation for the reckless driving charge. As part of the agreement, he was required to make a $1,000 charitable donation. If he maintains a clean driving record and avoids further legal trouble, the charge will be dismissed later this year.
It was a resolution that raised eyebrows even before the footage surfaced.
The bodycam video adds a visceral layer to the case. Hearing an officer calmly explain that someone was traveling at or near 115 mph on a public highway — and then watching the aftermath of the wreck — changes the tone dramatically.
A Bentley, a Narrow Highway, and a Split-Second Decision
The Bentley Continental GT Speed is not a casual commuter car. It is a 600-plus horsepower luxury performance machine capable of reaching 60 mph in under four seconds. On an open track, it is engineered to be stable at speed. On a busy Connecticut parkway with traffic and limited shoulders, it becomes something else entirely.
At those velocities, reaction time shrinks to almost nothing. The difference between a safe pass and a catastrophic collision is measured in fractions of a second.
According to the footage, McMahon attempted to pass too late and clipped the BMW’s rear quarter panel. The physics did the rest.
The fact that no one was killed is extraordinary.
Context Matters

McMahon resigned from WWE in January 2024 after a former employee filed a civil lawsuit alleging sex trafficking and other misconduct. That case remains separate from the driving incident.
Still, the combination of high-speed recklessness, a luxury sports car, and a powerful public figure fuels an uncomfortable narrative. The video shows a man nearly 80 years old driving well into triple digits, failing to slow as an officer attempts to catch up, and ultimately colliding with another vehicle.
For many viewers, the footage will spark questions not just about judgment, but about accountability.
The trooper ends the encounter by issuing the summons and telling McMahon, “Nice to meet you. Happy birthday to your granddaughter. Try to enjoy the rest of the day.”
That closing exchange lands differently when you consider what could have happened at 115 mph.
The Takeaway
This wasn’t just a speeding ticket. It was a 100-plus mph highway impact involving a high-powered grand touring car, captured in full on dash and body camera.
It ended without fatalities. It ended without prison. It ended with probation and a donation.
But the footage shows how close it came to ending very differently.
And at triple-digit speeds, “stupid fool” might be the understatement of the year.
