The dashcam and bodycam footage we’re sharing shows an out-of-control teenage girl who stole a Ford Focus, ran from police, and ended up crashing it head-on into a tree. She doesn’t seem to understand the gravity of what she did after the fact and is shocked when police slam her with felony charges for the reckless behavior.
Watch Arkansas police struggle to stop a stolen dump truck.
We never in a million years would’ve stolen a car when we were young and still wouldn’t. But we knew kids or young adults who did, and they always had big problems. That’s on full display with this girl as she plays victim and pretends like she didn’t really do anything wrong.
Not being able to take personal responsibility for one’s actions is a surefire way to end up going nowhere fast in life.
After she gets checked out by EMS, the girl seems more interested in her phone than talking to the cop. But it comes out she advertises car detailing services on Facebook Marketplace and someone dropped off the Focus for her to clean up.
She took the vehicle for a joyride, even though she doesn’t have a driver’s license. Why is it so many kids these days avoid responsibilities like getting a license yet they feel like they can do whatever they want? That entitlement is a real societal problem.
When the cop keeps asking her questions she doesn’t want to answer, the little scofflaw tries lecturing him while cussing up a storm. It’s obvious she thinks she’s cute and won’t face consequences.
She was shocked when the officer tells her she’s getting arrested and slapped with two felony charges: fleeing and operating a vehicle without consent, plus a misdemeanor for reckless driving. It might have been the first time in her life she faced actual consequences.
Ultimately, she pled guilty to the felony fleeing for the other charges to be dismissed. Instead of serving time in prison she was given 18 months of probation and fined $18,000 for restitution. A lot of people feel she got off too easy.
Also, in this video we have yet another example of a cop who doesn’t correctly identify a suspect vehicle. We get police are human and they make mistakes, but this one calls the Ford Focus a Volkswagen. Considering there have been cases of the wrong car being spiked or pitted based on a faulty description, it’s a big deal.
