Award-winning rapper, musician, and producer Swizz Beatz has lived quite the life. With so many feathers in his cap, one would wonder what else he wants to accomplish in life. Well, for starters the man wants to introduce more people to different car cultures around the country and the world, something he’s doing along with his son in the new TV series Drive With Swizz Beatz.
This 1969 Plymouth Road Runner hides quite the surprise.
Streaming on Hulu, the show highlights a side of Swizz perhaps not everyone fully appreciates. The man has been quite the collector of cars over the years. He, like many of us other enthusiasts, has found that it’s easy to connect with other gearheads anywhere else through that shared passion. That seems to be at the core of the show and it’s something we can get fully behind.
Also central to the series is family, so Dominic Toretto can get behind that. Seriously, it’s no coincidence Swizz Beatz includes his son in the show as the two get to know other enthusiast families, including some fathers and sons who work together on their awesome rides.
In an interview with ABC News, Swizz Beatz said when he was a kid in the Bronx cars always fascinated him. Like a lot of gearheads, it was a love affair that started early. But like a lot of us he had to work hard to get something cool, which he said his first ride was a Nissan 300Z – not a bad way to start out.
As his income grew, the man was able to get into collecting and car shows. That opened even more doors as he met other enthusiasts of different stripes. We truly love that about the hobby since not all of us are into the exact same things but overall we share a similar passion.
So this new TV series sounds like something even the non-car people can appreciate. In fact it might help educate some who just don’t understand why gearheads love the hobby so much. If you’re interested it’s on Hulu right now.
