Even before the days of the internet, people did strange things for a variety of reasons. It’s just that these days we get to see a lot of those oddities documented on social media. But even in a sea of nonconformists, a 24k gold-plated Cybertruck is downright shocking.
A Tesla Cybertruck slit the owner’s wrist open.
People are either going to love or hate this creation dreamed up by YouTuber JerryRigEverything. The polarization in the video’s comments and on different social media platforms where it’s been posted are indicative of that. But we somehow doubt the guy is the least bit shook by that.
After all, he admits up front that the gold plating alone for the Tesla Cybertruck costs a whopping $60,000, and that’s without the cost of labor. If you think that’s a crazy bill to foot, Ridge Wallet didn’t think so and gladly forked out the money with the agreement JerryRigEverything gives them a shoutout in the video.
So with other people’s money in hand, the guy got busy creating the most boujee Cybertruck to date, that is until someone encrusts one with gold and diamonds, which will probably happen next week. Seriously, the amount of crazy stuff being done with the newest Tesla is just insane.
The process of gold plating the Cybertruck’s stainless steel panels is interesting. It involves an electrical current, acid etching the metal’s surface, and using a pink goop to actually apply the 24k gold. Even with three people working on the project, it takes several days to complete, so it’s not as quick and painless as a wrap.
Supposedly, the ultimate fate of the Ridge Wallet gold-plate Tesla Cybertruck is that it will be given away at a later date. We don’t know how or when, but Ridge surely will make a big deal about it so awareness of their product soars.
