Rapper and music sensation 2 Chainz was in a brutal car accident while traveling through Miami. He even shared a little glimpse of the aftermath with his fans on Instagram December 12, creating quite the stir. The musician simply shared an image of a car with heavy front end damage, as well as a brief video of him checking is watch before boarding a jet, a patient wrist band like what’s used in the hospital visible.
2 Chainz didn’t give many specific details about the crash, saying the first image was of “the car that hit us from behind.” He then praised God and thanked those who “checked up on” him, mentioning that sometimes he can’t tell if people genuinely care.
While some Instagram users thought it was a weird flex for even 2 Chainz, others tried accusing the rapper of staging the whole thing for platform likes and attention. In this age of social media scams and setups, people have become understandably skeptical of everything.
But according to a USA Today report, authorities have confirmed the crash did in fact happen and wasn’t fabricated as some sort of elaborate publicity stunt. They say not only was 2 Chainz’s 2016 Mercedes (no model specified) involved, so was a 2013 Nissan and a 2010 Toyota.
Thankfully nobody was killed, but Florida Highway Patrol did confirm one adult male was transported to the hospital, which appears to have been 2 Chainz. He reportedly injured his neck in the crash, which he apparently is blaming on the driver of the car in the photos shared to Instagram.
Real name Tauheed Epps, the 46-year-old 2 Chainz was in Miami for the weekend to attend the Art Basel events. Thankfully, it looks like he’s going to be okay.
