Milwaukee Police Car Gets Crunched By Reckless Driver

Estimated read time 2 min read

It’s no secret Milwaukee, Wisconsin has a huge problem with reckless driving. One local news station dug into the problem back in April of this year, concluding that many repeat offenders are just let off the hook by police. Things seem to have only gotten worse with the police chief involved in a crash right after leaving a news conference about rampant reckless driving, a truly ironic event.

Tiffany Haddish has been charged with DUI again.

But even more shocking is this footage of a Milwaukee police cruiser getting T-boned so hard by a reckless driver it tipped on its side. Once it’s finally back on the tires, we can see in bodycam footage the rear portion of the roof has been crushed like a soda can.

The officers inside seem to be okay, but the driver was definitely shaken by the incident as her partner tried keeping her calm. Quite frankly, she was lucky to be conscious and talking, not to mention just breathing and alive in the moment. Had whatever crushed the back of the cruiser had been just a few feet in the wrong direction, this would’ve been a double officer fatality.

According to Incident Response, the YouTube channel which uploaded this dashcam and bodycam footage, the reckless driver ran a red light and slammed into the police vehicle. It was a horrific situation which should help illustrate just how bad the situation is in Milwaukee.

The city is the purported birthplace of the Kia Boyz, a group of juveniles who pride themselves on stealing Kias, Hyundais, and other cars. They’ve been blamed for starting the Kia TikTok Challenge, teaching countless other youth how to boost vehicles, spreading chaos around the nation and beyond. That certainly has helped fuel the reckless driving problem.

What’s really great about this footage is how many people in the beginning got out of their cars to help the police officers. Sadly, in some areas people laugh when cops are hurt. It’s good to see these people instead wanted to help those who protect and serve when they’re most vulnerable.
