A high-performance McLaren 720S was completely destroyed after losing control on a wet section of the Autobahn near Munich. The incident occurred on a bridge during heavy rain, where the powerful supercar reportedly struck a metal barrier at high speed before coming to rest in a mangled state.

Authorities said the driver was traveling too fast for the slick road conditions when the crash took place. Despite the violent impact, the driver managed to escape with only minor injuries and was treated at the scene, avoiding hospitalization. Emergency responders quickly arrived to secure the area and remove the remains of the vehicle, which had suffered catastrophic damage.
Photos from the crash site reportedly show the McLaren torn apart, with much of its lightweight carbon-fiber chassis destroyed. Nearly every body panel was shattered or detached from the car, leaving only fragments of what was once one of Britain’s most advanced supercars. Damage estimates exceed $290,000, effectively rendering the vehicle a total loss.
The McLaren 720S, produced from 2017 through 2023, is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that delivers 710 horsepower to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The model is capable of accelerating from zero to 60 mph in under three seconds, making it one of the fastest road cars in its class.

Incidents like this highlight the risks of combining extreme performance with challenging weather conditions. While modern supercars such as the 720S feature advanced traction and stability systems, they remain difficult to control when pushed beyond their limits — particularly on slick or uneven surfaces.
