Los Angeles Lakers point guard Luka Dončić has added another rare vehicle to his growing car collection, taking delivery of a Bugatti Mistral, one of the most exclusive models ever produced by the French automaker. The Mistral is limited to just 99 examples worldwide, placing Dončić among a small group of owners with access to the open-top hypercar.
Dončić, who joined the Los Angeles Lakers, took delivery of the car finished in a striking gloss black exterior. A bright orange centreline runs the length of the car, providing a sharp contrast against the dark paint. The Mistral rides on two-tone wheels, while black brake calipers complete the understated but purposeful exterior specification.
Inside, the cabin continues the black-and-orange theme. The interior features a two-tone leather layout with orange stitching used throughout. Black switchgear maintains a cohesive look, while matte-finished carbon fibre surfaces add a technical and performance-focused feel to the cockpit. The interior design balances luxury and motorsport-inspired materials, consistent with the Mistral’s position at the top of Bugatti’s lineup.
The Bugatti Mistral is powered by an 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine, delivering 1,600 horsepower to all four wheels. This powertrain represents the final open-top application of Bugatti’s iconic W16 engine. The Mistral also holds the top speed record for an open-top production car, reinforcing its status as a technological milestone.
As one of only 99 customers worldwide, Dončić’s ownership highlights the continued appeal of ultra-low-production hypercars among elite athletes. The Mistral’s combination of extreme performance, rarity, and bespoke detailing positions it as a standout addition to any collection, particularly one owned by a global sports figure at the height of his career.
