Made famous when Ken Block drove it in Gymkhana Ten, the Hoonitruck will forever be fondly remembered by so many. But one lucky bidder will be able to drive off into the sunset with it soon as the one-of-a-kind build is set to cross the auction block later this month. Anticipation of a lofty final bid is high and many will be watching the televised event just to see what happens when this Hoonigan original is front and center.
Posthumously released, Ken Block’s Electrikhana Two reminds us of something important.
Ostensibly a 1977 Ford F-150, the Hoonitruck has been modified so severely it’s no longer that original vehicle. Built by Block and his Hoonigan team in collaboration with Detroit Speed, the all-wheel-drive pickup is slammed and ready to drift.
You can see the turbos for the 914-horsepower twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 poking out of the hood, clearly signaling the truck is all about performance. Of course, the distinct Hoonigan livery is a calling card itself.
There are many interesting design features in the build. For example, Ford Performance designed the intake manifold, which was 3D printed and also protrudes above the hood like the turbos. The wheels are completely custom and feature functional beadlocks.
Because it is a truck, even though the bed isn’t usable as a payload, there’s still a hitch for pulling a trailer. The Hoonitruck is outfitted with a brake controller and boost control. The team even put a Ford Sync system in it.
The inspiration for this build actually came from Block’s father, who owned a 1977 Ford F-150. Ken learned to drive on that pickup and did his first burnout in the thing, so the move to turn one into a drift vehicle was sentimental. After all, as Block points out in a video review when the Hoonitruck debuted, it’s too large and otherwise constrained to be a practical drift ride.
Ken Block’s Hoonitruck is set to cross the block at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction, which runs January 18-26, 2-2025. See the lot listing for yourself here.
