People are freaking out after videos of what some are calling Kanye West’s “Cybertruck” are floating around social media. Obviously, the weird wedged-shaped seemingly opaque black vehicle which look like something out of a science fiction movie isn’t a Tesla but some social media users claim Yeezy himself invented it and he’s going to be the next Elon Musk.

Social media can be a wild place where you might learn some interesting things but also where crazy, unfounded claims can catch on like wildfire. This seems to be a case of the latter.
Immediately, we recognized the Lo Res concept car from several years ago. Only a few were made, but it appears Kanye West acquired one of them and now people are jumping to all kinds of conclusions.
According to footwear company United Nude, which designed the wild ride, it’s a tribute to the Lamborghini Countach. Back in 2016 when it was revealed people thought there was no way the vehicle could be driven, especially since it can appear completely opaque. However, it in fact can drive but we wouldn’t take such a thing out in traffic.
The unique shape came about by scanning a Countach, then re-designing it repeatedly by lowering the 3D resolution. It’s basically a simplified version of the Lambo by several degrees. That’s probably why you didn’t notice the resemblance right away.
It was created to be zany, not practical, so naturally Kanye had to have one. We’re not positive how he got this ride, but one sold on Bring A Trailer for $111,111 back in the fall of 2021. So they’re not horribly expensive, all things considered.
Still, some want to believe Kanye West invented the Lo Res concept car and that it’s somehow his version of the Tesla Cybertruck.
