In an effort to market the newly redesigned Mercedes-Benz CLA to “diverse communities” the German automaker had Ice Spice create this custom art car. Unveiled during the grand opening of the newly renovated Mercedes-Benz of Manhattan dealership, it’s just so weird we think it might just work with the youth.
This is about as weird as Maserati’s odd boat ad.
We honestly can’t name a single Ice Spice song and are only vaguely aware of the woman who’s apparently called the “Princess of Rap.” But we have seen plenty of art cars throughout the years and this is one of the most bizarre yet.
After all, the this is made to look like it’s melting with satin chrome that appears to be all drippy. Wrapped around it is some giant chain with the “Princess” charm Ice Spice apparently wears all the time.

What’s more, the wheels are just black slates with the Mercedes three pointed star surrounded by stylized chrome letters spelling out the rapper’s name. The tires are also chromed out, because of course they are.
Just for good measure, the wheels on this poor Mercedes have plenty of negative camber. We honestly were hoping the whole stance movement would’ve died out by now. This doesn’t give us hope for the Carolina Squat movement to fizzle out anytime soon, either.
Finally, we come to the rockers, which are this weird chrome filigree design that honestly is gaudy and weird at the same time. We guess some members of Gen Z with zero historical context or a shred of taste might find this enthralling – so are they going to bug mommy and daddy to buy them a Mercedes CLA as a result?
Keep in mind, Mercedes-Benz admits it’s already using AI in its vehicle design process. Considering how weird AI art is, and how the new CLA looks, that’s really not surprising. We just wonder how many more CLAs the Germans will sell thanks to this gaudy stunt and how much damage will be done to the brand.
