Holy Pininfarina! Batman-Inspired Hypercar Wows

Estimated read time 2 min read

Usually Hollywood studios and automakers don’t collaborate on the creation of a new vehicle, but these days it seems anything is possible. During Monterey Car Week, boutique brand Pininfarina revealed its new B95 Gotham model created in collaboration with Warner Bros, using the swanky venue The Quail just like what playboy philanthropist Bruce Wayne would do.

Batman’s monster truck is the best Batmobile.

As an open Barchetta two-seater, it’s a throwback to the yesteryear of motoring, something we’ve seen Ferrari and others pay tribute to in recent years. This one pays tribute to Wayne Enterprises by featuring the logo on the body, chassis plate, and door sills.

Keeping with a sophisticated appearance, Pininfarina opted for Argento Vittori gloss black paint and unique wheels with matte black inner and gloss black outer rings, as well as a black center lock ring.

That contrasts with the tan leather used in the open cabin, featuring quilted stitching in the center panels.

Despite drawing inspiration from racecars made a century ago, the Pininfarina B95 Gotham is loaded with cutting-edge technology, just like something Bruce Wayne himself would drive. The HMI display is themed after Wayne Enterprises, using a virtual assistant which sounds like Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne’s famous butler.

Just like regular B95 Barchettas, it also features electronically adjustable aero screens designed to move air up and over the open cockpit. It also comes with explosive performance, 1,9000-horsepower and a 0-62 time of under two seconds.

You might not see this ride tooling around at your local meet because production figures will be kept low.

For now, only this one exists. But Pininfarina is building four B95 Gothams for customers, with at least a few more on the horizon.

Inspiration for the unique hypercar was Bruce Wayne, Batman’s alter ego. Three more bespoke vehicles created in collaboration with Warner Bros., each of them inspired by the Batman universe as well, will be revealed.
