We love the S550 Shelby GT350 and GT350R, a car that exudes coolness, and we’re far from the only ones. That’s why Hennessey Performance has resurrected the muscle car as part of its Revival Series, pushing more performance out of the Voodoo V8.

That means for those who can afford the upgrade, the H850 package bumps power way up to 850-horsepower, just like the name suggests, via a big supercharger and other upgrades. It’s the kind of punch one would hope from a muscle car that sounds so wicked with a flat-plane crank V8.
With that kind of a power boost, the Shelby GT350 or GT350R is going to be that much more entertaining to drive, either on the road or track. We know a lot of owners like to stretch their snake’s legs out on tracks or even at autocross events, so having this kind of upgrade would help improve times and make for an even more thrilling outing.
We haven’t seen a Revival Series car from Hennessey before, so this is a new initiative by the Texas tuning house. With the announcement of the Shelby GT350 and GT350R coming back, it says there will be “an ultra-limited run” offered, although the exact quantity isn’t specified. In other words, if you want one of these tuned muscle cars, you’ll have to act fast before they’re all gobbled up.
Hennessey is also careful to say the Revival Series isn’t a “return” of a past model it feels is legendary enough to warrant a comeback, instead it’s apparently a “rebirth.” That seems so much more dramatic and is some good marketing speak.
Obviously, Hennessey plans on releasing more Revival Series cars in the future. Everyone can begin speculating what will be next – we can think of several possibilities, including other snakes and some kitties. It’s an interesting move we wonder might be spurred by some changes happening in the automotive market right now.
