The annual Merrit Island Christmas boat parade was ruined in seconds when two boats collided, all of it caught on camera. That video footage of the crash has been spreading on social media and it’s easy to see why. After all, the actions of the man driving the boat that crashes into the other are bizarre and obviously dangerous.

In the footage, we see one boat pass by the camera at trolling speed while music plays and people wave. Then another boat that has the body of a C7 Corvette and Christmas lights on it also comes slowly cruising along.
But the man behind the wheel of that ‘Vette boat decides to gun it to the right, showing off for the crowd while his female passenger is standing up inside. While kicking up quite the wake, that man then swerved to the left and straight at another boat out in the water, running over the back of it.
You can hear people yelling as they see the collision coming, then expressing disbelief after it happens. How could the guy be so reckless and stupid?
The end of the footage shared to Instagram shows the damage done to the boat that was hit. The engine was ripped off its mounts and the shroud is torn up. There are also holes in the boat’s hull.
According to local news station WKMG, three people were taken to the hospital. Two were released, but the condition of the third was unknown. In the video, it looks like when the boats collide at least one person was flung far out into the water. Reportedly, one victim was found unresponsive in the water after the crash.
One witness told WKMG the Corvette boat driver was “doing donuts” and acting recklessly all night. He believes it was only a matter of time before the guy crashed.
