BMW, like several other automakers, has collaborated with Lego for its Speed Champions series with much success. The Bavarians are at it again with a fresh set featuring two current competition racecars: a BMW M Hybrid V8 and M4 GT3.
The set was created to celebrate the 24 Hours of Le Mans and is geared at juvenile and adult fans of motorsports as well as the famous building bricks. Both racecars are recreated using the famous plastic blocks, with BMW M Motorsport working closely to help ensure both are recreated as accurately as possible.
Immediately, fans will recognize the famous livery gracing both toy cars, something which has even been used on M road cars for a long time. Also notable are the aero elements on the vehicles, including the aggressive front splitters and rear wings.
The attention to detail continues into the cockpits of both racecars, which can accommodate a Lego minifigure driver each. Access is allowed by removing the roof of the racecars, ensuring kids and adults can easily seat their driver before taking off in exciting playtime races.
Retailers already have this BMW M Motorsport Lego Speed Champions set in stock, so grab it while you can. We’re sure many Bimmer racing fans will remember this fondly for years to come.
The Lego Speed Champions series has featured different iconic racecars in sets for almost a decade, thrilling fans of motorsports. They’ve helped get countless children interested in cars and racing, helping to form bonds between them and their gearhead parents.
This year, the 24 Hours of Le Mans will be held on June 15 and 16, which might be the perfect time to break this and other Lego Speed Champions sets out for some building fun.
