Now that the first C8 Corvette ZR1 supercars are being delivered to customers, we also finally have dyno numbers. One of the new owners took his Chevy to Paragon Performance, which put the vehicle through the paces on the rollers with some rather surprising results.
The Ferrari F80 blows away Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.
Already, the C8 ZR1 has achieved some impressive results. Not only can the thing hit a claimed 233 mph top speed, GM says it can do 0-60 in just 2.3 seconds. However, Car and Driver found in its testing the American supercar can do 0 to 60 in 2.2 seconds.
In other words, GM went conservative on its performance estimates.

But did it do the same with the powertrain figures? According to the automaker, the twin-turbo 5.5-liter LT7 V8 cranks out 1,064-horsepower and 828 lb.-ft. of torque. That’s with those matching snails pushing 26.1 psi of boost.
As you can imagine, Corvette enthusiasts were eager to see what Paragon Performance found with what we believe is the first ever dyno run for a C8 ZR1. The shop did several runs, the best one showing 1,028.60-rwhp.
That figure isn’t too far off from GM’s claimed power at the crank. We’re really wondering if the company didn’t go conservative on all the performance specs for the supercar.
As far as torque, Paragon Performance measured 839.85 lb.-ft. on the dyno. That’s more than what GM claims!
Of course, this could’ve been a fluke or anomaly or whatever you want to call it. As the new Corvette ZR1 is put through its paces on dynos, we’ll get a better idea if there was something off about Paragon Performance’s tests. But we don’t have any reason to believe the shop “messed up” in any way.
One thing is for sure: the C8 ZR1 is a crazy performance machine.
