Bad Bunny brought a vintage Ford F-100 pickup to center stage during his Super Bowl 60 halftime performance on Feb. 8, placing the classic truck in front of an audience of more than 128 million viewers worldwide. The 31-year-old artist performed atop a cream-and-green early 1970s Ford F-100, singing and dancing on the cab while performers stood in the truck’s bed and across the field. Ford Motor Co. did not advertise during the game but became part of one of the most-watched broadcasts of the year through the vehicle’s appearance.
The pickup was included at Bad Bunny’s request and closely resembled a customized green-and-white F-Series truck featured in his “Moscow Mule” music video, which opens with footage of a similar model driving across the Seven Mile Bridge in the Florida Keys. A Ford spokesperson confirmed the Super Bowl truck appeared to be a late 1960s or early 1970s F-100. There was no product placement agreement between the performer and the automaker for either the halftime show or the music video.
For automotive enthusiasts, the truck became one of the standout visuals of the nearly 15-minute performance. The model has been identified as a 1970 fifth-generation F-100 long bed. While Ford had no official involvement, the brand received prominent exposure during the broadcast without purchasing ad time, which reportedly cost between $8 million and $10 million for a 30-second commercial.
Industry analysts noted that vintage vehicles often enhance major productions and can reinforce brand recognition even without formal partnerships. Ford remains a top-selling brand in Puerto Rico, where Bad Bunny is from, and the F-Series continues to be a strong seller in the pickup segment there.
Bad Bunny’s publicist did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the truck’s inclusion.
