Lewis Hamilton is maintaining faith in Ferrari’s long-term vision despite another setback at the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix, where a brake issue cost him a potential top-six finish.

The seven-time world champion crossed the line eighth after losing more than 40 seconds due to the mechanical problem, forcing him to concede positions to teammate Charles Leclerc and Fernando Alonso. Hamilton was later handed a five-second time penalty for track limits as he struggled to manage braking temperatures in the final laps.
The result continued Ferrari’s frustrating run since the summer break. The Italian team remains the only outfit among the top four in the constructors’ standings without a race win this season, having scored just six more points than Williams since late August. Hamilton’s best finish in red so far remains fourth place.
Following the race, Hamilton took to social media to reflect on the difficult weekend—both professionally and personally—after the passing of his beloved dog, Roscoe. “After a tough week, it feels good to be home,” he wrote. “The support and love I’ve felt since losing Roscoe has been a powerful reminder that, even when things seem dark, there is so much good in the world.”
Turning his focus back to racing, Hamilton emphasized Ferrari’s resilience in the face of adversity. “The media headlines only tell one story—the one where things don’t go our way,” he said. “But the real story is how this team responds when things go wrong. We learn, we rebuild, and we go again.”
Hamilton said he’s proud of Ferrari’s effort and remains confident their breakthrough is coming. “Progress alone isn’t enough. To achieve greatness, we have to go further, be better,” he said. “If we keep building, I know we’ll get there.”
