A 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing—a model celebrated as one of the most powerful American luxury sedans ever built—is heading to auction in Oklahoma City, but this one isn’t rolling across the block in glory. Instead, the once-elite performance machine arrives as a charred wreck, heavily damaged inside and out after a catastrophic fire left very little worth saving.

Listed through IAAI, the Blackwing shows the kind of fire destruction that turns heads for all the wrong reasons. The exterior has been scorched to bare metal in places, with body panels warped from extreme heat. The grille, headlights, taillights, mirrors, and trim have melted or collapsed entirely, leaving behind a twisted outline of what used to be Cadillac’s halo sedan. The windows are smoke-stained and cracked, offering a glimpse into a cabin that is—by all measures—gone.

Inside, the fire didn’t spare a thing. The dashboard, seats, steering wheel, and interior electronics are burned beyond recognition, reduced to ash and exposed framework. There’s no saving the interior, and certainly no driving it—IAAI lists the car as non-running with a “junk” title issued in Oklahoma, ensuring it can’t return to the road legally. The odometer isn’t even recorded, as the damage makes mileage irrelevant.
It’s a haunting contrast to what the CT5-V Blackwing represented in its prime. Powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8, the sedan delivered 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque, launching from 0–60 mph in as little as 3.4 seconds and capable of topping 200 mph. For many enthusiasts, it was the pinnacle of Cadillac performance engineering.
Before the fire, the car carried a pre-loss valuation just above $100,000, and with an original MSRP around $95,595, the Blackwing was a serious statement piece. Now, its value has plummeted to whatever the highest bidder is willing to gamble on what remains.

Could it be revived? Technically, almost anything can—but restoring this scorched Blackwing to its former glory would likely cost far more than a pristine example. More realistically, it will serve as a parts donor or a cautionary tale sitting on a collector’s lot.
Either way, when the bidding opens, one thing is certain: this Blackwing’s next chapter will look nothing like its first.
