Quite a few people love the Honda S2000, particularly if they’re fans of the Honda brand, so prices often aren’t exactly on the affordable side. But if you’re looking for one you can use for track days, autocross events, or just having fun on the road, perhaps this more budget-friendly one we ran across listed for sale online could be the ticket.
Or you could get Bill Clinton’s former Presidential Limousine instead.
After all, the owner is asking just $18,000 for it, a price he says is “pretty firm.” While the title is clean, there are some issues he lets you know about upfront, so you’ll have to decide if this Honda is worth the cost or not.
This little roadster isn’t exactly a spring chicken now, considering it came out a quarter century ago, so that explains why it has 170,000 miles. However, the seller says the engine has been swapped for a different one which has 84,000 miles on it. We would ask for documentation of that, of course.
That right there might be enough to scare some people off. If you’re still reading, the other issues aren’t nearly as big. For example, some might not love the 3-inch front splitter, but that can be removed.
There’s also a K&N air intake and an HKS aftermarket exhaust with one of those big mufflers. Megan Racing adjustable coilovers have also been installed, as well as a new soft top in 2023.
But looking at the photos you can see the paint not only has chips and other blemishes, the clear coat is wearing off in places. Some might think repainting it is a good route, others would leave it, and some might go for a wrap.
Looking at the interior, it also has some wear on the driver’s floorboard with the carpeting coming apart and he run visor, of all things. Other surfaces look to have some wear, but nothing too unusual for the age, although the dash does have a cover, so that might be a mess underneath.
Now you have to decide if for the money this is a possible deal worth exploring or if you’d pass and either get something else or pay more for a cleaner Honda S2000. Check out the listing and get more details here.
