A wild turkey sliced through a Buick’s windshield on Interstate 15 by Garland, Utah in a freak crash that’s almost unbelievable. In fact, if there wasn’t a photo shared by firefighters of the aftermath, we would chalk the whole thing up to a tall tale out of the rural community.
Someone made a crazy rat rod with over 900-horsepower.
Apparently, the guy driving his Buick crossover on the interstate saw the turkey crossing the road and just decided to plow right into it. That was a bad move, because that turkey didn’t just mess up the guy’s nice ride, after it sliced through the safety glass the thing injured the driver badly enough he had to be taken to the hospital – yikes!

Have you ever seen a bird in the road and just kept driving, figuring the little guy would fly away before you hit it? Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn’t, but when you’re dealing with a turkey, just go around the thing – that’s the lesson here.
Every day we think we’ve unlocked a new nightmare scenario to keep us awake, then we run across a story like this one and we realize there are all kinds or horrible things than can happen to you.
While the driver wasn’t critically injured, the turkey didn’t survive the ordeal. It’s no wonder, seeing all the blood splattered and smeared in the Buick’s interior.
The local fire department reminded people they need to avoid hitting wildlife on roads. While we know hitting a deer, let alone an elk or moose, can lead to serious damage to your vehicle, possibly even injuring or killing someone in the cabin, we honestly had no idea a turkey would also mess you up.
There’s zero damage to the front end of the Buick and a curious absence of feathers in the grill, leading us to conclude the turkey jumped into the air at the last split second, as any hunter will tell you they tend to do when spooked, then went through the windshield.
It takes a lot to pierce all three layers of safety glass, so this must’ve been one big bird. We wonder if the firefighters enjoyed a nice turkey dinner afterward.
