We hear from people all the time who believe cool cars have to cost a lot, but this 1971 Buick Riviera proves otherwise. Like others, we think the overall styling of these coupes is criminally underrated. This one combines that with some modern power for a fantastic overall package.
Barn find 1974 Dodge Challenger is absolutely disgusting.
Recently listed on Bring A Trailer, this Riviera packs some serious heat thanks to a 6.2-liter LS3 V8, which was installed in the car back in 2022. It’s linked up to a three-speed automatic transmission, so people can’t whine and complain they have to learn how to use a third pedal just to enjoy this beast.

Yet when the dust settled and the final bid was submitted, this beautiful Buick went for a mere $22,000. You can’t even buy a new Honda Civic for that little.
The decision to paint this Riviera black was a wise one. Black really accentuates curves like what the ’71 has in spades, especially that boattail which is downright iconic. Blacking out most but not all of the trim, plug going with the black steel wheels with chrome dog dish hubcaps is just the icing on the cake.

Just as smart is the brown vinyl interior, which pairs so well with black. There’s goodies like an Alpine stereo and subwoofer, wood-rimmed steering wheel, plus power windows/driver’s seat.
With the LS3, those plush seats, and the sound system, this ’71 Buick Riviera has to be a riot for cruising around town. In our opinion, someone got a steal.
Sure, this car isn’t absolutely perfect. The seller disclosed there’s bubbling on the trunk lid and passenger side front fender. For the price, we could easily overlook that and fix whatever’s going on later.

The next time someone tells you there aren’t any deals these days, show them this car. They’re out there, you just have to hunt and be patient.
