Celebrity traffic stops can be interesting ordeals, but this one involving rapper and actor Ice-T in New Jersey is especially explosive. Police stopped the man allegedly for having expired plates on his Porsche 911 GT3 before realizing his driver’s license had also expired. But the musician didn’t maintain his usual cool persona as the situation unfolded.

Everything was of course caught on bodycams, the footage now uploaded to YouTube, which we’ve shared. Check it out for yourself and draw your own conclusions.
When the Hudson County deputy first approaches the Porsche, Ice-T immediately says he knows the car’s registration is expired and is headed to the DMV to get it renewed. When the deputy says the registration is expired, the actor expresses his frustration since he just said the very same thing.
As the deputy asks questions about the vehicle and its lapsed registration, the tension between the two continues to boil. But when the deputy discovers the celebrity’s driver’s license is also expired, things escalate further.
When the deputy threatens to have the Porsche towed, Ice-T’s anger boils over. He gets out of his car and demands his paperwork back so he can walk to the DMV, which is just down the street, and clear up the entire matter.
But the deputy is clearly angered by the interaction, digs his heels in, and calls for backup. However, when the sergeant arrives on scene things simmer down as a cooler head prevails. That doesn’t mean Ice-T is off the hook.
The sergeant okays the deputy issuing four tickets to the rapper, including one for driving on a suspended license. Would the deputy have let things go had the celebrity been nice and compliant from the get-go? Or did Ice-T take care of business and avoid an expensive tow along with impound fees?
