If you’ve been longing to hit the open road in a giant hot dog (and honestly who hasn’t?) then you should know Oscar Meyer is looking for Weinermobile drivers. That’s right, you could relish hot dogging around the United States in one of the most famous vehicles of all time and get paid to do it.
Check out the flying car and father and daughter bought.
Kraft Heinz, which owns the Oscar Mayer brand, recently announced it’s taking Hotdogger applications for people who would drive the iconic Weinermobile full-time for a year. The Hotdogger Program was launched back in 1988 as a creative way to advertise the weiner brand, so this will be the 38th time the company has selected weiner pilots.
In case you’ve never seen the Weinermobile in person, size does matter and it’s rather long at 27 feet. Drivers maneuver it along roads to the amusement of travelers, visiting about 40 cities and attending hundreds of events where adoring fans await the famous vehicle’s appearance.
The Weinermobile, which everyone knows and most people love, has been around since 1936. In fact, we’d argue it’s one of the most recognizable cars in America today.
Weinermobile drivers have become social media influencers in recent years, because that’s where we’re at. Kraft Heinz encourages each Hotdogger to develop social media content about their experiences with the weiner on wheels. How that takes shape is at their direction, although we’re sure the company provides some boundaries.
“With more than half of Gen Z aspiring to be an ‘influencer,’ our Hotdogger program is a great first step for anyone interested in exploring a career in social media or brand marketing,” said Molle Twing, Senior Brand Manager, Experiential, for Oscar Mayer. “With content creation and communications at the center of the job, it’s the only masterclass that takes place on a 27-foot-long hot dog—making for one truly life-changing experience you won’t get from a typical 9-5.”
But you need to hurry if you want a shot at this hot dog career move, because Kraft Heinz is only accepting applications through January 31.
