Despite the debate between the Jeep crowd and new Bronco owners, we already know Ford’s off-roader is the real deal. Still, it’s pretty amazing seeing a stolen Bronco rolling right over a police cruiser in Canada after the suspect driver was cornered, showing off those rock crawling skills in a nefarious way.
A famous NFL player really loves Broncos.
The incident went down in the Toronto area recently and it has people shocked. After all, how often do you see vehicles just crawl right over a police car?
With those big tires which are perfect for off-road adventures, the suspect was able to coax the Ford over the hood of a Dodge Charger Pursuit, making it all the way to the windshield and roof. Considering how low to the ground the front of those Mopars sits, that’s not horribly surprising, even if watching it happen is a little shocking.
What the Bronco couldn’t overcome was another police cruiser sitting a little further back. That one, a Dodge Durango, was too tall for the off-roader to scale, keeping it from progressing any further.
Police were able to take the driver into custody.
Supposedly, the Bronco had been stolen from a store parking lot in the area a few weeks ago. The owner spotted it, called police, and they converged as the Ford sat in a Tim Horton’s drive-through.
What’s really dumb is this suspect could’ve backed up a little and driven over a little grassy island that wouldn’t have even been like a speed bump to the rig. Instead, he likely panicked, hit the accelerator, rolling right over the one cop car.
Instead, a third unit came in and pinned the Bronco, keeping the suspect from getting away. As a result, we get some wild video footage and police got their man.
