Actor Christian Oliver, who’s famous for his role in the Speed Racer movie, and his two young daughters are presumed dead after their airplane crashed into the Caribbean. It’s the tragic end to the 51-year-old actor’s life with fans around the world mourning the loss.
Arizona high school “promposal” almost turns deadly.
Royal Saint Vincent and Grenadines Police Force says the single-engine aircraft Oliver and his daughters, aged 10 and 12, were riding in crashed into the Caribbean Sea one nautical mile west of Petit Nevis on the afternoon of January 4.
The airplane left the airport in Paget Farm and was en route to St. Lucia when it suddenly experienced problems and rapidly descended into the waters below. While fishermen and divers responded immediately and the SVG Coast Guard was dispatched to the area, the only thing rescuers found were four bodies.
Autopsies will be performed on the bodies to determine a cause of death. It’s not clear exactly what caused the plane to crash shortly after takeoff.
Oliver’s wife Jessica and her family made a public statement about the tragedy on Instagram, saying her husband’s death “will be deeply felt by all who knew him.” She also extoled the virtues of the daughters.
People from around the world have taken to social media to mourn the loss of Oliver and reminisce over their favorite roles he played in different productions. The man made quite the impact on a range of individuals.
Originally from Germany, Christian Oliver was apparently splitting his time between living in Europe and the United States, working both as an actor and real estate agent.
